    July Pickups

I am the proud owner of a blue and purple Uncle Jacks copy and reluctantly parted with my red/orange about a year ago to my good pal on the board. So when another red/orange became available I couldn’t resist. Is there possibly a green out there?

I've been looking for one of these in good shape for years.

First two are from Hake's on Tuesday night (June 29 in Westerville, Ohio). They complete the four-pin set (to go with the other two shown) that all have similar style graphics. Rare -- just like WNBA rookie cards -- but they don't command big prices and likely never will, also just like WNBA rookie cards.

Hi Rob! I really like the pins, but I’m betting a Taurasi rookie outperforms them. Great pickup though. I remember going to Sohio outings(I worked in the oil industry) which involved going to an Indian game at the then Municipal Stadium and then heading down to The Flats to party.

Jeff - congrats on your new born….how very exciting!!!! That CM Ruth is awesome & after we discussed your somewhat tentative negotiation, I’m so glad it worked out & that card found it’s way into your collection! Well done!

Thanks all, Joe can definitely be my son's Cardfather.

Back is clean, card just has multiple creases which I'm guessing is why the grade. I've never cared much about condition as long as fully intact, so the card was perfect for me.

This card is something special for me. When I was a kid a manager at the factory my dad worked at knew he had a son and used to give us tickets to Old Timers Day at Yankee Stadium. The seats were right behind the announcers booth and I remember talking to Phil Rizzuto, the Yankee announcer at the time, and getting autographs. I saw this in the Heritage Sunday auction and just had to have it.

Jay, that card looks to have a pink background. I thought Rizzuto was orange. Does it come in two colors?

It is a pinkish red. No clue Jeff, this is the first Leaf baseball card I have ever owned I know in football there are a variety of backgrounds resulting from missed color passes or partial color passes.

Great Ruth- tuff card, especially one that’s decently centered.

Thanks guys! The card is beautiful. The horizontal line in the image is from the slab saver. Good luck to you all in REA.

Some recent auction wins (including a duplicate Mendelsohn Cobb) and a pickup from the National.
